Industry Autopsy
iSpy sparked the introduction to the artist Kyle to the world. Kyle is a light-hearted, fun loving artist who has already gained accolades such as being on the cover of the XXL '17 Freshman cover and just having the number 4 song on the Billboard Hot 100. Here's what I thought of the track iSpy. Cool Bars First verse overview: For being such a chill beat the first verse had bars. He showed versatility by how he switched up the flow towards the middle of the verse. But I think he should've took at the harmonizing at the end of the verse, it doesn't fit the fast paced flow of the previous bars. Chorus: The chorus is simple but has some complex imagery in it. A chic that you find off Instagram that's bad.... but doesn't have a lot of followers. I like how the chorus flows with the cadence of the beat. And the ‘for ever’, part is familiar to a listener of rap music because of the memorable Miss Jackson track by Outkast. Second verse overview: The second verse is all over the place, but when Lil Yachty is a littly all over the place. I like how he switches to different flows it sort of masks the times when he doesn’t rhyme. He also uses the auto-tune too much on the verse. As a listener there's point where you can't even understand him. How is the overall production of the song? The beat is very upbeat and happy. It seems similar to a nursery rhyme in that it is catching. I like that the piano is very distinctive and stands out. I imagine a listener talking to someone and going, “Have you heard that one song with the piano? Dunnn-dun-dun-dul. Summary: Overall this is song is a hit. It’s catchy and all ages will be listening to when they play this song on the Now That's What I Call Hits 2017. Highest Billboard Position: 4 Current Billboard Position: NOT ON CHART Weeks on Billboard: 6 Certified: 3x Platinum
