The Get Down Cheat Sheet: PArt 2 Episode 4

"Gamble Everything"

Episode 4. Not too many episode's left. But this one here!!! This one here!! Got that action! The story starts with Dizzee and his brother Boo-Boo talking, Dizzee is still recovering from that overdose if you remember. They both make some slick comments to each other. They both know that the other has a secret. One's gay and the other sells drugs, but they leave their secrets hidden.. for now. ​

Next we move on to Mylene. Her friend Yolanda is having cold feet about going to this club and performing so she rats out Mylene because the club they're going to be performing at called "The Rubicon" is suppose to be more ratchet than Studio 54, and she ain't about that life. So Yolanda's momma calls Mylene's house and Mylene's pops snatches the phone and find outs out where Mylene is performing. So he decides he is going to head to the Rubicon, but not before slapping around his wife. And in his pastor suit. Crazy.. So you can only guess where the momma decided to go.. back to Papa Fuerte's house. 

But we continue with Mylene at the club getting ready to perform. And then her competition, Misty Holloway shows up. Then the scene cuts to those weird ass comic book scenes with Ra-Ra talking to this chic named Tanya from the Zulu Nation Block. This is Afrika Bambaataa's territory. And the Zulu nation doesn't like the Get Down Brothers because the whole overdose in the club situation. So he risking his life for a chick. But this was a cool part of the episode that showed how respected the Zulu Nation was on their territory. No matter hustler, gangster, pimp or hoe, everyone respected them. And they promoted unity and peace over anything. And they had some dope parties. And again everyone respected them.

Back to the club. Misty Holloway get's on stage and starts performing "Back Stabbers" by the O' jays and throwing all kinds of salt at Mylene. So then Mylene gets on stage and starts performing her new song "Toy Box" which ain't for all ages, its a dirty raunchy song. And her father shows up, and just as she starts twerkin' she stairs her father in the eye and then proceeds to twerk harder. You could tell a piece of him died just then. But the crowd loves her performance and she is on a natural high. So when the songs over and Mylene is backstage her father slaps her. He ain't bout to raise no Niki Minaj. It's crazy how this preacher has been beating on woman this whole season Part 1 and Part 2. But the bouncers eventually kick him out the club and beat the hell out of him. I mean all of the demons they beat out of him. And Mylene is upset and distraught so she starts doing coke and champagne. A popular choice of the '70s.

 Next Shaolin and Fat Annie start to talking. Shaolin explains to Fat Annie that the Get Down Brothers want out of their contract. But Fat Annie reminds them that this is a contract that they signed and it ain't that easy homie. She says she has already paid for studio time, engineers, tape, and a Big Band!! Shaolin knows what this mean, they tryna replace the DJ with a band and he gets upset. Fat Annie starts to slap Shaolin but then he pulls out a pistol and slaps her upside her head and unconscious. So then Shaolin did what any guy who just pistol whipped somebody would do. Get the fuck out of there and goe home!! I know what your thinking "Nobody will ever find him here". But while Shaolin is paranoid Ra-Ra comes up with an idea to go to the Zulu Nation for protection from Fat Annie. Plus he wanna see Tanya again.

We return back to Mylene's drunk and beat up father. He shows up at Papa Fuerte's house and finds his wife and tells her she's coming home. But she ain't tryna get beat no more so she says no. So he and Papa Fuerte start fighting. The momma breaks it up and drops the bomb of the year..... Turns out that Mylene is Papa Fuerte's kid. This is where get out the popcorn. And broken the pastor gets the fuck out of the house.

This is craaazzzzzyyyy. Mylene's father is tripping like a mug. His life has spiraled in less than 24 hours. His wife is cheating on him, Mylene isn't his, plus he crazy. So he is in his new big church drunk and beat-up preaching to himself, like yelling. Like 'Black preacher' preaching that take longer than 2 hours and you looking thru the program tryna see what part they at. Then it happens.... He shoots himself. Damn. Then the camera cuts to a tape recorder still recording in the background of everything that had happened. Next Mylene drunk and coked out shows up to the church to find her father dead. And the end of the episode What an ending!!

The only Hip-Hop history lesson of this episode was the Zulu Nation and how they ain't nuthin to fuck with.
