To be lost at sea is to be lost in your thoughts. The vast waters crashing against the boat are similar to the thousands of thoughts colliding in the mind. Each idea fighting to stay alive. Each a struggle to be top of mind. Ayilla is an artist who is taking on the waves of a relationship in her latest video "Lose Your Love" that features Jeezmino. The song is the 4th track on her debut album "Crazy As We Are".
Ayilla is an artist whose words are wrapped in depth. Depth of subject and depth of metaphoric and spiritual meanings. Her gift to blend both singing and rapping is reminiscent of a young Lauren Hill. But for anyone that has seen her perform live has seen first hand that she has created her own lane that is Ayilla. It's with this video that she further builds her catalog of visual bliss and sonic-ally pleasing vocal performance. The track shows her multiple talents both as a rapper who can switch up flows as well as a vocal performer who can hit a range of notes and melodic pitches. She verse surrounds the struggle of being in a relationship. But as J. Cole says "It's Beauty In The Struggle".
I'm tired of seein you go.
What's better than one beautiful woman on a yacht? Two! What separates these Ayilla and Jeezmino is that both have a very different approach on the track. Ayilla takes her time and gives you time contemplate on her words, while Jeezmino doesn't waste any time and makes sure to leave no room for interpretation. Jeezmino's quick wordplay highlights the sharpness of her words which are both direct, and intentional. One thing that sticks out in the video is that she can be seen both riding in the boat and in another shot showing that she can steer it in the right direction. This is exactly the roles that you have to fill in a relationship. Sometimes you have to sit back and support and other times you have to grab the wheel and drive. Put she puts it way better.
"Picking up pieces, confused.
