“Why do you rap and love hip hop?” “I just feel like me when I am rapping,” he said. It was during an interview with Whip Key Media that Deezy explained why he got in to hip hop(Interview here). After reading the article you get a feel for “why” or rather “who” Deezy is. And it’s this same narrative about his love for hip hop and why he loves it so much that can be heard throughout his music. As a an artist his successes have been his, and just so his failures have been his as well. But through it all he has kept swinging fences. And It’s with his latest single “Rollin’” that Deezy is taking his next at bat in hopes of delivering a home run hit.
Deezy is a rap artist from OKC who strives to set the standard for lyricism in the ever changing hip-hop culture. Now apart of the Guerrilla Breed Collective, Deezy looks to leave his mark on the hip hop community as well a legacy that will be remembered.
The track “Rollin’” features 2Much and Lee’Ru who collectively form the group Split Personality. And just like Yin and Yang these two’s distinct style are what separates them and at the same time brings them together to make a cohesive sound. Getting into the production for “Rollin” it has a really aggressive element to it that is also high energy. All three artists are able to match this aggressive feel in their delivery and more importantly their bars. The verses feel like a full out lyrical assault. Even more impressive is the fact that each verse brings something unique. Comparing the verses the artists featured on the track are truly able to hold their own, creating sort of a competition of who can deliver the hardest bars. But bars aren’t the only thing hard about this track, it’s actually the chorus that helps bridge everything together and keeps the feel of the track going. Although be it short, the chorus becomes sort of a chant drawing the audience and the listener to participate and match the tone of the song. So that’s it right? Not exactly. I couldn’t leave you without some bars!! Checkout Deezy spittin':
